For those patients who want to use their insurance and have high deductibles remember it’s better to start at the beginning of the year to maximize your benefit. In other words, although you will be paying out of pocket in the beginning, once your deductible is met insurance will pay their percentage through the end of the year (providing you are on a calendar year policy). This will give you the opportunity to visit more providers (always go to an in-network Dr. for contracted savings) and utilize more healthcare services as the year progresses. If you wait until the middle or end of the year you will have less time to reap the savings.
